Witch & Proud

Let me tell you a tale…which explains the ridiculously delicious mood I’m in currently.

Ever since I was a little girl I’ve always know who I am to the core, what interests me and what doesn’t. true…I wanted to be Ursula, and felt the wicked witch in the Wizard of Oz was unfairly mistreated. I mean, who was going to feed the flying monkeys when she was melted over a pair of shoes? See. Look I’m off on a tangent.

Anyway, I compromised somewhat in adulthood.  Why? Fear of other people’s opinions.  Which seems ludicrous given how I look and how opinionated I can be. I think the reason for that is my appearance doesn’t matter, what I’m saying about a situation, doesn’t matter at the end of the day. Opinions are like arseholes and all that. It’s all materialistic, and gift wrapping.  it’s not what makes up a soul or person that we see. The core or root of who we are comes from within, our morals, principles and beliefs is what I think matters, harder to justify and explain, as no-one else has ever walked in your shoes and nobody can ever prove you wrong…although I have met those that have tried.

So, when Flynn and I set up The Hallowed Spiritual Sanctuary last year, we felt, for some reason that if we were true to who we really were, then it may not work, we had to appeal to the masses and be the watered-down version, the socially acceptable versions of ourselves for it to work. What was we thinking. Like seriously.  Fear. I’ve seen in the media across the country how Metaphysical shops get bombarded with hate speech, forced out of shops, windows broken, stupid comments made. Just harassed for their chosen way of life, why does it matter so much to people? The world is a messed-up place and it’s all down to ignorance.

Because of this, we are going to stand up for who we are, be who we want to be, and help those in the same situation, hopefully. Yes, I imagine it won’t be plain sailing. (Neither was being alternative in a town full of normal but thank you for the thick skin)

Gone is the fluff.  I’ve dusted off my hat. The wind has changed, if you look to the skies, you will probably see…. not me, would take a hurricane to get me off the ground. But you know what I mean.

We are going to share our experiences with you, and what we have learnt over the past 30 years. It’s not going to be all fluffy and whimsical and it sure as hell isn’t like the movies. So, we welcome you to

Hallowed Grimoire.

Be true to who you are - who you want to be. In order to be successful you need to believe in your product. So its time for change. Good luck ! xxx

Personally, I've always treated "being a witch" as a part of your DNA, It's either there or it isn't you either have it or you don't. A Witch constantly goes through cycles, true Witchcraft isn't "fluffy" it's visceral, it's hardcore, it's life changing and it's bloody hard work! Witches don't float about clutching a chunk of industrially mined quartz talking about "vibes" & "positive energy". Witches are workers, on the edge of society usually, we are different, we view the world through different eyes. If you have it, flaunt it, never be ashamed or hide it....we learned the hard way what happens when we submit! Witchcraft is a way of life, its not something you get from just claiming you're a witch and then sharing a bunch of "Witch themed" motivational memes of social media. Good for you for speaking your truth
